Swedish Medical Center Sterile Processing Technician III in Edmonds, Washington
Swedish is looking for a Sterile Processing Technician III (1.0 FTE, Variable Shift) to work in the Sterile Processing department at Swedish/Edmonds in Edmonds, WA.
The Sterile Processing Technician III must be able to perform decontamination of surgical instruments and equipment, as well as inspecting and assembling surgical instruments, equipment, trays, and packs. Capable of making department section decisions in the absence of the Lead.
In this position you will:
Fill surgery case carts from predetermined listings and may deliver to surgical floor
Render used items clean and decontaminated manually or mechanically by following established policies and procedures in the decontamination area
Assure inventory levels are maintained by recording supplies/equipment issued, rotation of stock and the maintenance of departmental reports and files
Operate cleaning equipment and maintain cleanliness of work areas
Answer department phone calls and relay message appropriately
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School diploma or equivalent
Completion of a formal Central Services Technician course or successfully challenged Course test
Minimum 5 years related experience with surgical instrumentation in hospital Sterile Processing/Central Services environment
Certification through internationally recognized organizations such as IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management) or ASHCSP (American Society of Healthcare Central Personnel)
