Swedish Medical Center Supervisor, Core Lab in Edmonds, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Supervisor, Lab Section (1.0 FTE, Evening Shift) to work in the Core Lab at Swedish Edmonds Main Building in Edmonds, WA.
The Supervisor, Lab Section provides technical and operational supervision and direction for the clinical laboratory.
Hours: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
In this position you will:
Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, safety, environmental and infection control standards ensuring the laboratory is in compliance with accreditation and licensing agencies.
Assure adequate staffing and provide work direction to include scheduling, evaluations, and counseling.
Perform the essential job functions of a Medical Technologist.
Provide input for the budgeting process.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in in Chemistry, Biology, Immunology, Microbiology, Allied Health, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, or an appropriately related field, from a regionally accredited college/university.
Medical Technologist (MT)/Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) certification (ASCP or equivalent)
Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college/ university
Three (3) years of full time acceptable clinical laboratory experience in the U.S., Canada or a CAP/The Joint Commission accredited laboratory within the last six (6) years. Must be acquired post baccalaureate degree and be under the supervision of a pathologist (certified by the American Board of Pathology) or an appropriately board certified medical scientist
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Biology, Immunology, Microbiology, Allied Health, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, or an appropriately related field, from a regionally accredited college/university.
