Swedish Medical Center Senior Patient Services Coordinator - Mercer Island Primary Care in Mercer Island, Washington
Swedish Medical Group is looking for a Senior Patient Services Coordinator (1.0 FTE, Days) to work in Primary Care at Swedish Mercer Island in Mercer Island, WA.
The Senior Patient Services Coordinator works under the general direction of a physician or his/her designee, utilizing communication and management skills to coordinate seamless care delivery for patients in a surgical or non-surgical setting, and provides basic patient care to assigned patients and act as a patient advocate to assure the patient’s access to care during their entry into and through the services of the clinic.
In this position you will:
Responsible for the daily operations and planning of workflow for the Patient Services Coordinators (PSC) to ensure that all team members know what their priorities are, daily
Assist with scheduling surgeries and/ or procedures or services needed in the ambulatory management of the patient's care.
Ensure a complete medical record is present at the time of patient visit, admission, and/ or procedure
Responsible for evaluating the efficiencies of the team as well as identifying barriers and move to eliminate them where possible
Acts as the liaison between the patient and the various clinic areas and ancillary services to coordinate activities involved in pre-operative planning and preparation or planned hospitalization
Perform other duties as assigned
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School diploma or GED
Minimum of 2 years' experience
Demonstrated PC skills, i.e. proficient with MS Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience
Medical Assistant Certification
Previous experience in a healthcare setting
Prior experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast paced environment, including handling confidential data with discretion
Solid understanding of medical terminology
