Swedish Medical Center Charge RN - Med Surg in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Charge Registered Nurse (0.9 FTE, Nights) to work in Med Surg at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional,comprehensive nursing care for patients in an acute care environment. Responsible for the workflow of the unit underthe direction of the unit management team. Determines unit priorities forassigned timeframe with regard to patient care, patient flow (bed control),staffing and distribution of resources. Responsible for ensuring adherence tostandards and regulations.
In this position you will:
Coordinate patient care activities on the nursing unit, provide immediate clinical oversight of staff members, and ensure that all dailydepartmental activities are completed
Serve as role modelfor staff and assist staff in following established, best practice standards
Actively participate in performance improvement activities within the unit and with otherdepartments
Promote a culture of inquiry that explores, integrates and disseminates research and evidence based practice
Make appropriatepatient care and unit assignments, and delegate tasks according to staffcompetencies
Required qualifications for this position include:
All Registered Nurses without a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing must obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or higher within 6 years of hire
A RN with 20 years of RN experience will not be required to obtain a BSN
Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis at each facility by the most senior administrative nursing leader in consultation with the Human Resources leader
Licensed as Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
1 year experiencewith like population of hiring unit and demonstrated leadership accomplishments
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Previous charge nurseexperience, to include leading teams
3 - 5 years of med surg nursing experience in an acute care setting
