Swedish Medical Center Dental Assistant - Oral And Maxillofacial Surgery in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Group is looking for a Dental Assistant (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Oral And Maxillofacial Surgery at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.
The Dental Assistant is responsible for acting as First Assistant during oral and maxillofacial surgery cases in the OR. Must have knowledge, training and experience in Orthognathic procedures in order to work in conjunction with the oral surgeon. Must have experience with sterile instruments and sterile fields in the OR. Prepares and sterilizes dental instruments and updates patients’ dental records. Will conduct pre-op teaching (2 hr appointments) for most surgeries. Will take impressions as well as prepare the molds, etc. Will take dental radiographs. Will also assist with dental procedures in the office and have experience with various forms of office sedation.
In this position you will:
Take diagnostically appropriate CBCT scans
Enter patient information into electronic medical record
Take clinical photography
Record patient vital signs
Take alginate impressions, pour up stone models
Return patient phone calls during the day
Maintain inventory of supplies
Clean and sterilize instruments
Attend office training and continuing education as requested
Assist in general office upkeep including tidying up and other miscellaneous needs as required
Assist medical assistants with their clinical duties
Assist in surgical treatment under local, IV sedation and general anesthesia
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduation from an accredited Dental Assisting program
Dental Assistant License in the state of Washington
Experience assisting in the operating room with maxillofacial and oral surgery
