Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Manager Respiratory Care and Pulmonary Function (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Respiratory Therapy at Swedish Medical Center in Ballard, WA.

The Manager Respiratory Care and Pulmonary Function is responsible for the overall management and leadership of respiratory care services and pulmonary function provided in the Swedish Medical Center; including Adult, Neonates, and Pediatric patients. This includes clinical and operation activities of the Ballard Cardiopulmonary Services department and also of the pulmonary function departments on all campuses in accordance with Swedish Medical Center’s mission, vision and values.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate of a Respiratory Care Program or equivalent approved by the AMA.

  • Baccalaureate degree

  • Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner in the State of Washington; Registered RRT with NBRC.

  • Three (3) plus year’s management or supervisory experience in Respiratory care

  • Must meet standards set by the NBRC and be RRT credentialed; membership in the AARC is highly recommended.

  • Ventilator management, CPR EKG, PFT, and utilizing personal computers with basic skills in the use of MSOffice.

  • Must be able to read and analyze general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.

  • Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of staff, managers, customers and the general public; able to read, write, understand and communicate in English.

  • Must be able to work mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and be able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

  • Must be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

  • Must establish standardization of services and clinical practice across the system, where feasible and have the ability to communicate the resources that are needed and can be provided by respiratory care services.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master’s Degree
