Swedish Medical Center OR Consortium - September 2017 Cohort in Seattle, Washington
Where You Work Matters!
For over 100 years, Swedish Medical Center’s number one priority has been caring for the communities that we serve by consistently delivering the highest quality, most comprehensive care to our patients. To continue in this tradition we are seeking outstanding individuals with demonstrated leadership capabilities to participate in our September 2017 Perioperative OR Nursing Consortium.
The September 2017 Perioperative OR Nursing Consortium is a two-part, intensive training program that is designed to prepare nurses for a successful career working in the operating rooms at Swedish. The first portion is comprised of enrollment in the 17-week OR Nursing Internship through the Northwest Perioperative Consortium (NWPC). This internship involves classroom learning, hands-on skill labs and demonstrations (clinicals) at multiple facilities in the Puget Sound area to prepare nurses to enter the operating room as a functional member of the surgical staff.
Upon successful graduation of the NWPC Perioperative Nursing Internship, cohort members will be placed into their permanent OR Teams at one of our 5 hospital locations in the greater Seattle area. During this second phase of the OR Consortium, nurses will be oriented to their department and continue to learn more about their individual specialties.
This is a Full Time Program, Monday - Friday, Day shift. No scheduled vacations will be allowed during the entire training period.
After completion of the training program, the OR Staff Nurse position requires you to take "call" and work weekends and holidays in addition to your normal shift hours as assigned. If "on call", you are required to be at work within 30 minutes of being called in.
