Swedish Medical Center Registered Nurse - Heart and Vascular Surgery in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Registered Nurse (0.9 FTE, Day shift) to work in the Heart and Vascular Surgery at Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle, WA.
The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care adapted to individual patient needs based on the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
In this position you will:
Coordinate the activities of the health care team during surgical intervention, delegating duties as needed.
Relay information to the patient and family as appropriate, providing emotional support and comfort.
Prepare the surgical site using aseptic techniques.
Initiate nursing actions based on physiological and psychological changes.
Deliver conscious sedation, providing psychological support to the patient when needed.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Licensed as Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
Nursing Baccalaureate degree (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing, or must attain a BSN within 6 years of hire
Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
One year of related operating room experience or completion of an approved training course
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Working knowledge of CVOR specific equipment
Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience
Adequate knowledge to perform assessments, plan patient care, provide direct care, and educate and orient families and staff
