Swedish Medical Center Registered Nurse - PACU I in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Registered Nurse (1.0 FTE, Evening shift) to work in the Cardiac and Neuro PACU I unit at Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle, WA.
The PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Registered Nurse (RN) assumes leadership, responsibility and accountability for designated patients in the post operative, phase I recovery unit.
In this position you will:
Provide triage assessment, nursing diagnosis and evaluating all aspects of nursing care for patients coming directly out of surgery.
Evaluate and monitor patient vital signs, adapting readily to changing situations, including cardiac and hemo-dynamic monitoring
Provide patient care to acute surgical post-op patients
Required qualifications for this position include:
Licensed as Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
Nursing Baccalaureate degree (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing, or must attain a BSN within 6 years of hire
Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
Current Advance Care Life Support Certification (ACLS)
One year of PACU experienceOR2 years of Critical Care or Emergency experience, including cardiac and hemo-dynamic monitoring
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Working knowledge of ventilators, cardiac monitors, defibrillators, chest-tubes and other related medical devices
Nurses with only acute care experience will need to complete a critical care course prior to employment, or completion of an approved training course
