Swedish Medical Center Respiratory Care Practitioner Coordinator - Respiratory Therapy in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Respiratory Care Practitioner Coordinator (0.9 FTE, Days) to work in Respiratory Therapy at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.
The Respiratory Care Practitioner Coordinator is responsible for keeping standards and procedures current, reviewing new equipment and supplies, maintaining and advancing the education of the therapists, and assisting the Manager in the annual evaluation of current employees and evaluation of new employees. This position has a strong Pediatric focus and will work mainly with Pediatric surgeons, Hospitalists and patients as well as adults.
In this position you will:
Act as a proper preceptor to new therapists and oversee orientation to specific patient care areas
Provide inservice education on critical care topics to the Respiratory Care staff, Nursing staff and other departments as needed
Develop, implement, review, and revise standards, procedures, and protocols for all adult patient care areas
Is responsible to provide backup coverage to patient care areas as needed
Consult with and advises staff therapists regarding the proper use of critical care equipment and monitors compliance with standards, procedures, and protocols
Attend physician rounds, family conferences, and other meetings as a representative of the Respiratory Care Department
Act as a liaison between therapists, physicians, nurses, other disciplines, and the Respiratory Care manager
Required qualifications for this position include:
Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner in Washington State
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials
Adult Coordinator must have Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification. Neonatal Coordinator must have Neonatal Advanced Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications
Clinical experience in related area
Prior lead therapist or supervisory experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of an AMA (American Medical Association) approved respiratory care program
Registry eligible with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
Member of the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC)
