Swedish Medical Center Return to Work Coordinator - Injury Management Program in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Return to Work Coordinator (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in the Injury Management Program department at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.
The Return to Work Coordinator monitors reported workplace accidents and coordinates medical care and return-to-work processes light duty and ergonomics evaluations designed to reduce the impact and cost associated with workplace injuries and to safely return injured employees to their job.
In this position you will:
Provide financial reports, alternate duty tasks reports, letters, memos and other reporting as needed to document activities appropriately according to the Labor and Industries laws in the State of Washington.
Oversee ergonomic evaluations and equipment purchase to facilitate movement of the workers’ compensation claim and safety of employee; utilize case management activities to provide case coordination.

Nursing Baccalaureate degree (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing required. Applicants without a BSN degree must actively pursue and attain a BSN within five (5) years of hire. Continued employment by Swedish beyond five (5) years is contingent upon attaining the BSN degree.
Registered Nurses employed by Swedish prior to December 1, 2012 are encouraged to pursue the BSN degree, but obtaining the degree will not be a condition of employment.
Applies to non-nursing candidates:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
Certification as a Certified Case Manager or Certified Disability Management Specialist or Certified Rehabilitation Counselor.
Experience for both:
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in healthcare setting with background in employee/occupational health, workers' compensation, case management, return-to-work , or other relevent healthcare, vocational rehabilitation or workers' compensation discipline.
Knowledgeable in State of Washington Labor & Industries rules and regulations and in OSHA record keeping
Intermediate computer proficiency to include database management, word-processing, spreadsheets, and email.
Ability to work with employees with diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
Ability to work with managers, supervisors, and physicians to provide a multi-discipline approach to early return-to-work, light duty creation and assignments.
Ability to recognize and refer employee’s cases when required to proper Human Resources and Leave and Accommodations and other employee programs.
Ability to perform effective case management across multiple events and other related programs.
