Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Registered Nurse (Per Diem/On Call, Day shift) to work in Cardiovascular Diagnostics at Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle, WA.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care adapted to individual patient needs based on the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The Registered Nurse is responsible for delegation and direct supervision of personnel (MA, ECG tech, Imaging techs) who participate in the provision of care before, during and after diagnostic cardiovascular stress testing to ensure that patient safety, patient needs and expected outcomes are met.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for direct supervision of cardiovascular non-invasive testing and / or treatment of patients in the Cardiovascular Diagnostic Imaging Center under order provision of a qualified physician or Advanced Care Provider (APC).

In this position you will:

  • Conduct rapid, proficient interpretation of electrocardiograms;

  • Ability to determine normal and abnormal findings; ongoing patient assessment;

  • Collaboration with the healthcare team in the testing unit and administration of contrast agents as ordered by a provider.

  • The Registered Nurse must demonstrate knowledge and ability to handle patients safely within scope of practice who have unexpected outcomes in the course of their testing ranging from abnormal study findings to cardiac arrest.

  • Rapid, proficient patient assessment skills are essential.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Minimum of 3 years recent experience in the field of cardiology required.

  • At least 1 full year of recent nursing experience with non-invasive cardiac diagnostic testing in volume of 20 tests per week is required.

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications

  • Current IV placement skills expected.

  • Basic Computer skills and electronic medical record documentation experience required.

  • All Registered Nurses without a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) must obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or higher within 6 years of hire.

  • A RN with 20 years of RN experience will not be required to obtain a BSN.

  • Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis at each facility by the most senior administrative nursing leader in consultation with the Human Resources leader

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Certified critical care nurse (CCRN)

  • ICU, CICU, CCU or Cardiac Cath Lab nursing experience
