The Swedish/First Hill campus, a 697-bed tertiary-care center, was named in 2010 as a Leapfrog Top Hospital, the most prestigious health-care honor in the nation. The Emergency Room at First Hill scored in the 98th percentile for "overall care" and 99th percentile for "likelihood to recommend to others" for two successive months, a unique accomplishment for an urban Emergency Room. On top of that, Swedish/First Hill is the recipient of a Performance Improvement Award from the Washington State Healthcare Safety Council.
Swedish/First Hill is home to the first cancer-care center west of the Mississippi. Today, the Swedish Cancer Institute (SCI) treats more people for more types of cancer than any other provider in the Northwest. The Swedish Orthopedic Institute (SOI), located on the First Hill Campus, is the first dedicated facility of its kind in the Pacific Northwest and one of the largest in the United States. The Organ Transplant Program at Swedish is at the forefront of new advances in transplantation surgery. In Women's Health, we have the highest delivery volumes in the state and our services include a neonatal program and a large volume, high risk OB program.
