From the moment Mark joined the labor and delivery team as a nursing senior practicum student, he knew that Swedish was where he was supposed to be. After graduating, he was accepted into the residency program and currently provides support, care and education for his patients and their families, before and after delivery.
My patients tell stories, laugh, cry and share their fears - this is their experience and I bond with them to make sure it’s the very best it can be.
What most attracted you to Swedish?
The ability to give one-on-one patient care. I thoroughly enjoy being able to give full attention to my patients and support them through an amazing time in their lives.
What inspires you most about working at Swedish?
Serving a community that welcomes new life into the world regardless of status and situation; and the emphasis Swedish puts on furthering education.
How do you deliver or impact the extraordinary care given to our patients?
I take time to get to know my patients and ask what they expect or want from their time with me. I support them physically and emotionally and I listen to them the entire time I'm with them. And I continue to challenge myself, asking questions and learning from my fellow nurses and doctors.
