Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Clinic Medical Assistant (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work for Specialy Clinic Support at Swedish Edmonds in Edmonds, WA.

The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management according to practice site protocol.

In this position you will:

• Escort patients to examining rooms, take vital signs and record patient symptoms and concerns in medical chart for physician review

• Prepare examination rooms and instruments for examination and testing

• Stock supplies and sterilize instruments and equipment

• Under the supervision of a physician, may give injections, perform blood draws, EKG's, strep tests, X-rays or perform other diagnostic tests or procedures

• Initiate or returns calls to patients to respond to their inquiries or requests for information, provide test results, confirmation of appointments, schedule testing or other procedures, pharmacy refills

• Completes a variety of forms or letters regarding patient referrals, laboratory tests, reminder letters

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Successful completion of a medical assistant program

• Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or Medical Assistant Interim certification

• One year prior experience in a medical clinic or clinical setting, or successful completion of an externship from an accredited medical assistant program
