Swedish Medical Center Cook - Room Services in Edmonds, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Cook, Room Service (Per Diem, Evenings) to work in the Cafeteria at Swedish Edmonds in Edmonds, WA.
Prepares, produces, assembles, and portions regular and special diet hot and cold food items as requested; pre-prep food items according to production sheets. Maintains work areas and equipment in order to meet sanitation and safety standards as well as par levels for food and supply stock.
In this position you will:
Prepare hot and cold food items according to established recipes. Broil, grill, bake, fry, puree and cook food in a timely and efficient manner. Pre-prep food items as indicated on production sheets.
Operate cooking equipment efficiently, utilizing safety measures. Ensure the safe and proper handling of all food items according to HACCP and local agencies.
Act as liaison between Nutrition & Food Service Department the patient and nursing unit. Assume the role of a patient advocate regarding food services. Take ownership of a problem and ensures a positive outcome, follows up each problem until it comes to a resolution. Mediates patient concerns regarding meal service.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school education or GED
Culinary work experience and/or restaurant style cooking or culinary arts training
Current Washington State Food Handler’s permit
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Progressively responsible experience in cooking in a restaurant or institutional food service setting
