Swedish Medical Center EKG Tech in Edmonds, Washington


Swedish Medical Center is looking for an EKG Tech (0.1 FTE, Days) to work for the EKG Department at Swedish Edmonds in Edmonds, WA.

The EKG Tech is responsible for performing inpatient and outpatient electrocardiograms, Holter monitors and event monitors. This position also performs scheduling coordination and office duties which include the use of computers, fax machines and telephones.

In this position you will:

  • Perform EKG’s on inpatients and outpatients

  • Perform hook-ups, disconnects and data transfer on all Holter and event monitors for inpatients and outpatients

  • Receive and respond to EKG requests via use of pager, phone system and overhead paging system. Responds to code pages

  • Schedule same day appointments and notifies other departmental personnel as needed

  • Independently check appointment schedules and organize available work to be performed


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • BLS (Basic Life Certification)

  • Basic knowledge of arrhythmia recognition and 12-lead EKG interpretation

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant program

  • One year of previous EKG experience
