Swedish Medical Center Food Service Communication Clerk - Cafeteria in Edmonds, Washington

Description:

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Food Service Communication Clerk (0.3 FTE, Days) in the Cafeteria at Swedish Edmonds campus in Edmonds, WA.

Obtain meal orders from patients and visitors in an efficient and timely manner; transposes the order to the system established for menu processing; conducts report processing as directed.

In this position you will:

  • Obtains meal orders from patients and visitors via the telephone. Verifies meal orders meet diet order parameters. Processes diet requisitions.

  • Transposes meal orders into the system established for menu processing. Processes reports and updates.

  • Coordinates call center processes with production and trayline areas. Documents required information efficiently and consistently.

  • Acts as liaison between Nutrition & Food Service Department the patient and nursing unit. Assumes the role of a patient advocate regarding food services. Takes ownership of a problem and ensures a positive outcome. Mediates patient concerns regarding meal service.

  • Communicates with members of other departments effectively and concisely regarding patient support, issues, requests and other special situations. Anticipates patient/team member needs and services them.

  • Serves as a quality assurance control point for every aspect of the room service program. Participates as a team member to ensure all actions reflect the overall program service goals.

  • Creates a service culture.

  • Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications for this position include:

  • High school level education or equivalent

  • Current Washington State Food Handler's permit

  • Previous health care food service experience desirable
