Swedish Health Services Manager Nutrition Services - Cafeteria in Edmonds, Washington

Description:

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Manager Nutrition Services (1.0 FTE, Day SHIFT) to work in Cafeteria at Swedish Edmonds in Edmonds, WA.

Manage the Swedish/Edmonds food production retail, patient and catering areas. Plans, directs, and evaluates food production to ensure that standards of safety, nutritional value, quality and performance are maintained. Oversee departmental receiving and inventory management. With guidance from Director, Guest Services, responsible for recipe, menu and concept development within established departmental guidelines. Develop and implement quality plans for the Edmonds campus, measure and analyze results and make recommendations for improvement. Ensure conformance with JCAHO, state and local regulations as well as compliance with all HACCP, department and SMC system policies and procedures.

In this position you will:

  • Manages and continuously improves operational systems that support the patient, cafeteria, and catering food services.

  • Assists in development of departmental budget. Complete all monthly financial information, including review and reconciliation of monthly data. Oversee processing of department invoices and revenue deposits. Oversee maintenance of cash, customer count and sales records.

  • Establish staffing and scheduling pattern. Oversee scheduling and assigning of staff to meet anticipated workload. Adjust staffing pattern or assignments to meet changes in needs. Approve vacation or other leave requests.

  • Oversees the standardization and testing of new recipes for patient, café and catering menus in accordance with established nutritional, quality and cost criteria. Collaborates with the sous chef to develop, maintain and modify the menus. Assist in planning and implementation of special events.

  • Develop, implement and monitor food service standards to meet JCAHO and other regulatory guidelines. Monitor food quality for presentation, temperature, and sanitation using established standards.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree Culinary or Nutrition field desirable. Or equivalent educ/experience

  • Equivalent food service experience in a leadership, supervisory, or management role may be substituted for education requirement.

  • 5 years Supervisory experience required.

  • 5 years Food service experience required.

  • Experience in customer service environment with demonstrated excellent customer service skills.

  • Current State of Washington Food Handlers permit.

  • Current Servsafe or other food safety or HACCP certification upon 90 days of hire.
