Swedish Medical Center Monitor Technician/Unit Secretary - Medical Orthopedics in Edmonds, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Unit Secretary/Monitor Technician to work in Medical Orthopedics at Swedish Edmonds in Edmonds, Washington.
This is a 0.9 FTE, day shift position.
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Unit Secretary/Monitor Technician provides efficient operation of a nursing unit by taking responsibility for the clerical functions and heart rhythm monitoring of patients.
In this position you will:
Serve as the hub of all communication for the unit and act as the front-line customer service representative
Be accountable for the efficient coordination of unit activities, including patient placement, scheduling, coordinationwith other departments for patient care services and the effective dissemination and prioritization of information
Assemble and maintain patient charts, current forms and results/reports
Watch over patient heart rhythm monitors and notify the nurses when alerts sound
Assess, order and maintain unit supplies and equipment
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School diploma or GED
Course work in Medical Terminology
Working knowledge of computers and various office equipment including: multi-line telephones, copiers, fax machines, etc.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Previous experience in an acute care facility or related work experience
