Swedish Health Services Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Cardiac Nuclear Medicine in Edmonds, Washington


Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Cardiac Nuclear Medicine at Swedish Edmonds in Edmonds, WA.

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs multiple Nuclear Medicine procedures on adult, geriatric, and adolescent patients as is indicated in department protocols as established by the Radiologist/Cardiologist/Radiation Oncologist. Produces diagnostic quality images for these procedures as prescribed by thesis procedures as described by department protocols.

In this position you will:

  • Operate Nuclear Medicine equipment by applying as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) principle nder the guidance of the Radiologists in observation of all Federal and State regulations

  • Maintain proficiency in operation of the Radiology information computer system to ensure timely procedures are performed and proper billing of patients occur. These systems include; Syngo, PACS, Pacsgear, Allscripts, EDM.

  • Perform quality assurance and quality control procedures as required in the radioactive license standards to ensure quality procedures are performed in all our patients.

  • Maintain and present all pertinent documentation for State and Federal inspections to demonstrate an effective and efficient Nuclear Medicine operation.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Nuclear Medicine program approved for certification in Nuclear Medicine.

  • Washington State Certified Radiologic Technologist – Nuclear Medicine license required.

  • Must be certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technologists Certification Board (NMTCB) or registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with advanced registry in Nuclear Medicine (N).

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN).

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 1 year Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience.
