Swedish Health Services Nutrition Services Assistant - Cafeteria in Edmonds, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Nutrition Services Assistant (Per Diem, Variable Shift) to work in the Cafeteria at Swedish Edmonds in Edmonds, WA.
Nutrition Services Assistant prepares, assembles, portions, displays, serves and/or delivers various accompaniment menu items to produce quality patient, Cafeteria and catering meals. Serves meals to patients in a professional, efficient manner; instructs patients on meal ordering systems; assists patients in placing meal orders; assesses the patients capabilities to utilize the meal ordering system. Maintains work areas and equipment in order to meet sanitation/safety standards as well as par levels for food and supply stock.
In this position you will:
Prepares, portions and garnishes items and/or menu accompaniments to provide variety and nutritive value to Cafeteria, patient and/or catering menus.
Stocks work station with food and supplies necessary to prepare menu items as requested by customers.
Merchandises and serves food in Cafeteria, on patient trayline, or in conference rooms in order to satisfy customer needs and expectations.
Cleans, organizes and sanitizes large equipment, food set-up areas and/or work station areas in compliance with sanitation and safety standards.
Assembles and/or delivers food items as assigned to patient and staff customers in response to needs.
Handles, stores and labels food in compliance with sanitation and safety standards.
Delivers correct (diet compliant) menu to patient. Instructs patients on the meal ordering system following an established script. Assesses patient’s ability to utilize the meal ordering system and follows up with appropriate staff member if unable to participate. Assists patients and/or family members in placing meal orders to meet customer needs and expectations.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma or GED
Current Washington State Food Handler's permit
Previous institutional food production experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Health care food service experience desirable
