Swedish Health Services Patient Registrar - Edmonds in Edmonds, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Patient Registrar (1.0 FTE, Variable Shift) to work in Patient Registration at Swedish Edmonds in Edmonds, Washington.
The Patient Registrar gathers and distributes all necessary demographic, financial and medical information to create and maintain an accurate patient medical record. Greets and assists patients, visitors and guests. Collects payments and deposits as appropriate.
In this position you will:
Accurately obtain, input, prepare and distribute all necessary information relative to a patient's registration for inpatient care, emergency care, and all outpatient services, in order to maintain an accurate medical record and ensure proper billing for services.
Follow managed care procedures, as applicable, to ensure authorization of services.
Explain and obtain signatures on consent of admission form and any other forms as appropriate.
Verify the accuracy of information on all pre-registered patients upon arrival, and make appropriate corrections to the system as necessary to ensure accurate records.
Provide excellent customer service by appropriately greeting and responding to inquiries from patients, visitors, and physicians.
Required qualifications for this position include:
- Prior customer service and data entry experience
Preferred qualification for this position include:
- Prior experience in Patient Registration or in a related healthcare field
