Swedish Medical Center Receptionist II - Diabetes Education Center in Edmonds, Washington
Where you work matters! Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Receptionist II (0.25 FTE, Day Shift) for Diabetes Education Center at Swedish Edmonds in Edmonds, WA.
This position performs a variety of front office clerical and support tasks within an outpatient setting. Primary responsibilities include patient scheduling, customer service activities, coordinating care with clinicians and providers, and scanning patient medical records.
In this position you will:
Greets patients and visitors in a pleasant manner, providing accurate and efficient information according to their needs. Demonstrates knowledge and competency in role in providing excellent patient service with professional communication and personal boundaries in all communication and functions as follows: • Observes HIPAA and patient privacy/confidentiality policies. • Maintains employee, peer and guest confidentiality at all times. • Establishes and maintains professional behaviors and communication with employees, peers and customers.
Maintains appropriate workload volumes by calling patients or responding to calls to schedule appointments in the hospital computer systems, confirm scheduled appointments and follow up on missed appointmentsCompiles and disperses necessary paperwork for appointments to ensure smooth workflow prior to patient arrival.
Mails or faxes appropriate information and reports, and requests referrals and lab reports as appropriate.Demonstrates knowledge and competency in role in providing excellent patient service with professional communication and personal boundaries in all communication and functions as follows: • Observes HIPAA and patient privacy/confidentiality policies. • Maintains employee, peer and guest confidentiality at all times.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School level education or equivalent
Recent medical or business related experience utilizing automated equipment
Ability to communicate effectively both in person and over the telephone
Ability to follow work related directions and instructions
Follows all HIPPA guidelines towards confidentiality of patient information
Ability to enter information into computer system accurately
Knowledge of hospital services and procedures
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Coursework in business or office practices
