Swedish Medical Center RN Navigator in Edmonds, Washington

Description:

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Registered Nurse Navigator (Per Diem, Days) to work in Mammography at Swedish Edmonds in Edmonds, WA.

The RN Navigator is responsible for administering a navigational program that will assist and expedite the diagnostic care of patients from discovery of abnormality through diagnosis.

In this position you will:

  • Collaborate with providers to provide support, education, referrals, coordination of care and other assistance during the diagnosis and treatment planning stages for patient with cancer or the suspicion of cancer

  • Facilitates and coordinates care with other health care disciplines, including medical imaging, surgery practices, medical and radiation oncology to facilitate the physician recommended patient care plan and the timeliness of appointments

  • Provides education for the patient and family by reinforcing information about diagnosis, treatment plans and available resources

  • Coordinates in conjunction with care provider referrals to community agencies, education classes, integrated care, rehabilitation, psycho-oncology care, etc.

  • Provides personalized nursing care and assures patient that they are cared for and have a resource and support person to call for questions and concerns

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Nursing Baccalaureate degree (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing within 6 years of hire

  • Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Washington

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Experience in Oncology, Breast Care and health care delivery

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) and/or comparable breast certification
