Swedish Health Services Senior Point of Care Coordinator in Edmonds, Washington
Swedish Edmonds is looking for a Senior Point of Care Coordinator (1.0 FTE, Days) to work in Laboratory Admin at Swedish Edmonds in Edmonds, WA.
The position is responsible for Quality Assurance and Compliance of the point of care testing program at their assigned campus(es). This position is responsible for managing the administrative and technical day to day operations of hospital point of care lab testing at the campus level. This includes, coordinating, training and controlling point of care testing throughout the assigned campus in which they are assigned in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards. It also includes responsibility for implementation of new service areas and improvements in technology, with recommendations to the System-wide Point of Care Manager regarding enhancements of the program. The Senior Point of Care Coordinator lends support to other service managers by providing utilization information and assistance with projects which focus on patient care and safety.
In this position you will:
Implements and maintains procedures, methods, techniques and approved plans for point of care program to meet all regulatory compliance by TJC, DOH-LQA, and CMS on their assigned campus(es).
Applies knowledgeable of current CLIA, TJC, DOH-LQA, and CMS requirements regarding point of care testing and ensures that the hospital staff meet those requirements.
Responsible for and manages and maintains the system-wide standardized point of care Quality Assurance program on their assigned campus(es).
Manages point of care testing databases and utilizes data for quality assurance, quality improvement and utilization. Reviews and responds to quality assurance data on a weekly/monthly basis. Provides a monthly utilization and Quality Assurance report to POC Manager.
Proactively mentors direct reports as well as point of care operators. Provides assistance to hospital staff and actively coaches the staff to resolve problems regarding point of care testing.
Troubleshoots and maintains instrumentation and quality control of equipment.
Bachelor's Degree preferably in Medical Technology
5 years as a Medical Technologist.
2 years Leadership experience.
Requirements include certification as a medical technologist (MT, MLS or CLS) or certification eligible by one of the following organizations: American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT). Certification must be obtained within 12 months of being assigned to the job.
1 year of point of care testing experience.
Experience working directly with clinical staff, supervisors, managers and physicians in a hospital setting.
Background experience with emphasis in client service.
