In this position you will:

We are seeking a Sleep/Polysom Tech Reg

A polysomnographic technologist performs comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis and associated interventions under the general supervision of the Sleep Lab Manager and/or the medial director and sleep staff physicians. This is a technical position functioning independently with limited supervision. This position cares for adult and geriatric patients.

In this position you will:

o Gather and analyze patient Information:

o Review history, allergies, medications and orders.

o Complete and verify documentation.

o Explain procedure and orient patient.

o Testing Preparation Procedures:

o Prepare/calibrate equipment, apply electrodes and sensors.

o Perform biocals.

o Perform routine positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fitting.

o Polysomnographic Procedures:

o Follow procedure protocols such as MSLT, MWT, PAP and NPSG to obtain appropriate data.

o Follow 'lights out' procedures to establish baseline.

o Perform polysomnographic data acquisition.

o Document routine observations including sleep stages and clinical events.

o Implement appropriate interventions including emergency procedures.

o Follow 'lights on' procedures and repeat calibrations.

o Polysomnographic Record Scoring:

o Assist with scoring sleep/wake stages by applying professionally accepted guidelines.

o Assist with scoring clinical events.

o Assist with the generation of accurate reports by tabulating sleep/wake and clinical events data at this time.

o Practice proper care, usage, and maintenance of the equipment:

o Clean patient electrodes, belts and other devices to prepare the room for the next patient.

o Monitor supply inventory.

o Monitor condition of electrodes and other parts needing replacement.

o Perform any other duties as deemed necessary by supervisor/manager.

o Transfers patients to sleep bed utilizing the appropriate safe patient handling equipment and technique when needed, allowing patients to be comfortable both physically and emotionally.


Required qualifications this position include:


Successful completion of a polysomnogram program of no less than one year associated with a state licensed and/or accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a polysomnographic technician.


o Current registration as a Polysomnographic Technologist with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT).

o Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN).


Preferred qualifications for this position include:



o Current registration as a Polysomnographic Technologist with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT).

o Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN).


6 months Experience as a sleep technician.
