Swedish Medical Center Starbucks Barista, Lead - Starbucks Retail in Edmonds, Washington
Swedish Edmonds is looking for a Starbucks Barista, Lead (0.85 FTE, Variables) to work in Starbucks Retail at Swedish Edmonds in Edmonds, WA.
This job contributes toward creating the Starbucks Experience for our customers by assisting the store supervisor in executing store operations, ensuring quality customer service, and delegating tasks. Ensures that customers receive prompt service, quality beverages and products, and a clean and comfortable store environment. Performs daily floor cleaning and environmental upkeep of store and backroom, and unloads Starbucks product weekly. Monitors employee development and provides feedback to store supervisor. Assists store supervisor with additional store functions as needed. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks and Swedish Edmonds guiding principles.
In this position you will:
Act with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of Starbucks and Swedish Edmonds. Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the shift team.
Serve as lead in the absence of the manager and/or supervisor. Assist store supervisor with additional store functions as needed. This may include assisting with development of work schedules and monitoring and reviewing work assignments, checking work for accuracy and giving advice and work instructions to other employees.
Anticipate customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues. Communicate information to manager so that the team can respond as necessary to create a community gathering space for patients, visitors, and staff.
Assist with new staff training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed.
Contribute to positive team environment by recognizing changes in staff morale and performance and communicating them to the store manager.
Required qualifications for this position includes:
High school diploma or GED
One (1) year food service experience
Current State of Washington Food and Beverage Service Worker’s Permit
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
- Previous coffee/food service and cashiering experience in a direct customer environment
