Swedish Health Services Ultrasonographer - Mammography in Edmonds, Washington


Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Ultrasonographer (Per Diem, Day SHIFT) to work for Mammography Department at Swedish Edmonds in Edmonds, WA.

The Ultrasonographer provides diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound on all patient age populations. Diagnostic examinations may be performed on breast, abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological and other areas. The ultrasound professional also assists with various procedures during which ultrasound is utilized. The ultrasonographer is responsible for performing and communicating results of examinations.

In this position you will:

  • Performs ultrasound examinations by producing appropriate images

  • Performs clinical assessment

  • Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images

  • Maintains proficiency in the operations of the RIS, EPIC, PACS, and other computer systems as required by the position

  • Performs emergency call for the department when scheduled

  • Performs portable exams when indicated, including surgery, assists with invasive and other special procedures as needed

  • Assists with the daily operations of the ultrasound department


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Successful completion of Ultrasound training program

  • Education sufficient to meet eligibility requirements to take American Registry of Diagnostic Ultrasonographers (ARDMS) registry examination

  • Board eligible with registered qualifications as indicated by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)

  • Board registry within one year of hire

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN)

  • Experience sufficient to meet eligibility requirements to take American Registry of Diagnostic Ultrasonographers (ARDMS) registry examination

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Previous ultrasound experience
