Swedish Health Services Engineer Associate - Facility Management in Issaquah, Washington

Description:

Where you work matter! Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Engineer Associate (1.0 FTE, Night Shift) to work in Facility Management at Swedish Issaquah located in Issaquah, WA.

Performs a wide variety of work requiring a variety of limited maintenance skills and abilities including but not limited to electricity, electronics, sheet metal work, welding, mechanics, machine shop work, hydraulics, plumbing, painting, ventilation work, carpentry, plastering, concrete and masonry work, ceiling installation, floor installation and motors.

In this position you will:

  • HVAC – Familiar with the location, use, control of and maintenance processes for thermostats, temperature readings, filter replacement, cooling tower cleaning, and air handler cleaning.

  • Plumbing – Ability to repair and replace faucets, flushometers, toilets, drain maintenance and valve locations.

  • Electrical – Ability to replace lighting, ballasts, switches and outlets. Assist with monthly generator testing and scheduled maintenance. Inspect, lubricate and connect power to motors. Knowledge of location and functions of breakers, switches and outlets.

  • Medical Gas – Ability to inspect, calibrate and perform testing and repairs on gas outlets, tanks, distribution equipment, and monitoring locations/readings.

  • Fire/Life Safety – Familiar with Fire control panel function, alarm system devices, sprinkler system function, wet and dry systems, pump and valve locations and fire extinguisher emergency lighting testing. Ability to identify system types and locations. Knowledge, location and ability to silence panels.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • 1 year Experience in general equipment maintenance.

  • Shall be team, service and detail oriented, creative, adaptive and an active participant in work flow management.

  • Be willing to continually train through self-directed, external education including documented experience with OJT and SMC Facilities provided training.

  • Understand and use basic electrical testing equipment.

  • Must be in good physical condition and perform many physically demanding tasks including: climbing ladders, working in high places, working in tight/confined places, climbing several flights of stairs, moving quickly to emergent situations - actual events and drills. Reaching overhead and below the floor to work on equipment.
