Swedish Medical Center Nurse Manager - ICU/Telemetry in Issaquah, Washington


Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Nurse Manager to lead the Intensive Care/Telemetry Unit at Swedish Issaquah in Issaquah, WA.

The Nurse Manager is accountable for the overall management and leadership of a unit or a group of patient care units within Nursing Services. The manager is responsible for all clinical and operational activities of the units in accordance with Swedish Medical Center’s mission, vision, and values.

In this position you will:

  • Ensure the provision of patient care 24 hours a day

  • Establish and enforce standards of patient care and nursing practice pertaining to areas of responsibility

  • Assume the role of patient advocate to clarify and evaluate ethical and/or legal issues, and supports cultural practices

  • Develop and responsible for operating and capital budgetary performance

  • Successfully plan for future needs, consistently demonstrating sound change management skills

  • Coach, develop, evaluate and advocate for staff


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Nursing Baccalaureate degree from accredited school of nursing

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington

  • BLS Certification

  • Minimum 3 years of recent experience in related clinical area of nursing with demonstrated clinical knowledge and leadership qualities.

  • Ability to prepare annual budgets

  • Knowledge of federal, state and local requirements and regulations regarding hospitals and patient care

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Masters degree in nursing

  • Minimum 1 year nurse management experience

  • Experience managing intensive care units.
