Swedish Health Services School Based Center Counselor - Case Management in Issaquah, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a School Based Counselor (0.8 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Issaquah located in Issaquah, WA.
We are seeking a School Based Counselor who is responsible for providing case coordination and a full range of clinical social work services including but not limited to psychosocial assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic interventions, crisis intervention and resource referral, within a school setting. The Counselor partners with the student and when appropriate, his/her support system as well as connecting him/her with resources inside the school system and in the community. The social worker is guided by the NASW Code of Ethics and the Swedish Mission, Vision and Values in his or her daily practice.
In this position you will:
Assumes daily caseload at their School assignments
Participates in school based activities with partner organizations – such as Public Health –King County, Issaquah Public Schools, etc.
Develops an individualized treatment plan for the student
Effectively assesses diagnoses, and counsels clinic patients, providing culturally relevant treatment, crisis intervention and/or transition services to treatment elsewhere
Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to use crisis intervention techniques, and to address issues including grief, stress, parenting, coping skills, problem solving, abuse/neglect, chemical dependency and domestic violence
Provide telehealth counseling services and in-person services once school reopens
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited school
Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with the Washington State Department of Health under Chapter 18.225 RCW
Excellent clinical experience and ability to manage clients in crisis
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Minimum of one year of social work/counseling with youth populations
Education/experience in working in a school environment
Education/experience working with families
Utilization management experience
Familiarity with diagnostic codes and billing for mental health services
