Swedish Medical Center School Based Health Center Counselor - Case Management in Issaquah, Washington

Swedish Medical Services is looking for School Based Mental Health Counselor (0.8 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Case Management for the Issaquah School District. Openings in Elementary, Middle and High School available.

The School Based Mental Health counselor is responsible for providing case coordination and a full range of clinical social work services including but not limited to psycho-social assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic interventions, crisis intervention and resource referral.

In this position you will:

  • Partner with the adolescent and when appropriate, his/her support system as well as connecting him/her with resources inside the school system and in the community.

  • Lead and work with groups

  • Develop the ability cooperative relationships with students, faculty, families, physicians, and other health care professionals within and outside Swedish Medical Center.

  • Participate in social and community planning and represent Swedish in a professional manner

  • Use a PC for clinical data entry (keyboard proficient) and email

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Masters Degree in Social Work from an accredited school required

  • Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with the Washington State Department of Health under Chapter 18.225 RC required

  • Excellent clinical experience and ability to manage clients in crisis required

  • Compliance with NASW Code Ethics is required

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Minimum of one year of social work/counseling with adolescent preferred

  • Education/experience in working in a school environment strongly preferred

  • Education/experience with families is preferred

  • Utilization management experience preferred

  • Familiarity diagnostic codes and biling for mental health services preferred
