Our commitment goes beyond words.
At Swedish, our commitment is more than something we strive for. It's reflected in everything we do. It's part of who we are, and it begins with our dedication to our patients and the health of our region.
Swedish is committed to creating a culture that values patient safety above all else. This is evidenced in the way we provide ongoing training to our staff of nearly 13,000 employees, with an emphasis on error prevention tools, techniques for clear communication, and team support exercises.
We owe much of the continued growth of our health system to our ongoing initiative to promote sustainability at every level of our organization.
Our commitment to our patients and our community extends to the way we serve the underserved. We provide a full range of community outreach programs to ensure that everyone - from the uninsured and underinsured to people who need but cannot afford specialty services - receive the care they need.
Our Nonprofit Mission:
Improve the health and well-being of each person we serve.
Demonstrate the highest-quality, best-value healthcare to all we serve.
Global to Local:
Swedish Medical Center has partnered with Washington Global Health Alliance, Public Health – Seattle & King County and HealthPoint to address disparities in local health care through a groundbreaking initiative known as Global to Local. This approach focuses on applying global solutions to local health-care challenges in underserved populations, offering innovative, holistic and community-driven solutions to providing health care and economic development strategies in diverse, low-income populations.
Accreditation and Quality:
Swedish Medical Center is fully accredited by the Washington State Department of Health, the Commission on Cancer, and the Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. An active quality improvement program ensures that all patients receive optimal care in a safe and caring environment.
