Swedish Medical Center Coding Tech, Coding and Abstracting, Telecommute in Portland, Oregon
Where you work matters! Swedish Medical Center is looking for a 1.0 FTE Coding Technician at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.
The Coding Technician assigns diagnosis and procedure codes on inpatient or outpatient cases using ICD-10-CM and CPT coding systems, assigns DRGs using the Centers of Medicine and Medicaid Services and All Patient groupers and abstracts data for statistical, reimbursement and regulatory requirements.
*Telecommute option available. This is an Inpatient role.
In this position you will:
Ensure coding compliance.
Assign optimal CMS MS-DRGs and All Patient DRGs.
Provide education to the medical staff, case managers and hospital staff on documentation, coding and DRG assignment.
Provide concurrent coding consultation to clinical documentation specialist.
Attend and actively participate in Coding staff Clinical Documentation Improvement Team meetings.
Required qualifications for this position include:
2 years or more of ICD-10 CM and CPT Coding Experience performing Hospital Based inpatient coding (Acute Hospital Facility coding, not clinical coding) REQUIRED
Completion of Certified Coding Program
Demonstrated literacy with Microsoft Office software
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT)
Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
Certified Procedural Coder Hospital (CPC-H)
Certified Coding Associate (CCA)
Acute hospital facility coding experience
