Swedish Medical Center Patient Registration Representative in Redmond, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Patient Registration Representative (0.5 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Patient Registration at Swedish Redmond in Redmond, WA.
The Patient Registration Representative is responsible and accountable for the coordination of information and support needed for the flow of patients in the Swedish Medical Center and Emergency Department environment. Provides front line customer service including reception and Registration.
In this position you will:
Greet and direct patients and visitors presenting to all patient access areas within Swedish Health Services
Work closely with patient, families, visitors, physicians, and staff to identify needs, answer questions, resolve problems, or provide other information
Manage the patients’ Medical Charts, files and admission
Interview patients applying Patient Selection and Creation P & P and obtains patient demographic and insurance information
Assist patients requesting financial assistance through financial aide programs, processing all necessary paperwork
Serve as a conduit to the appropriate staff to assist patients in determining alternate sources of coverage for hospital stays including payment arrangements for private pay accounts
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or GED
Previous experience in a medical setting
Working knowledge of Excel, Word
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
AA degree preferred
Two years experience in a medical setting with inpatient or outpatient admitting preferred
About the Redmond Campus.
The new Redmond center encompasses nearly 85,000 square feet of space on three floors. It has 18 emergency exam rooms, open and staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week; an advanced diagnostic imaging center (with X-ray, mammography, ultrasound, CT scan and MRI), staffed by partners from Seattle Radiology; an on-site laboratory; and offices for primary- and specialty-care providers. Swedish/Redmond will immediately treat patients suffering from stroke to severe lacerations or burns, broken bones, sports injuries, allergic reactions, food poisoning, work-related injuries and many other medical emergencies and non-emergencies.
