Swedish Health Services Scheduler Front Desk Medical Imaging, ACC - Imaging Registration in Redmond, Washington

Description:

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Scheduler Front Desk Medical Imaging, ACC (0.5 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Imaging Registration at Swedish Redmond in Redmond, WA.

The Front Desk Medical Imaging position provides a wide range of routine to moderately complex support tasks for medical imaging along with prioritizing multiple tasks during high volumes. These responsibilities include scheduling outpatient imaging services for CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Radiology. In addition, they schedule all imaging services that are generated through the emergency department. Requires an understanding of optimal patient flow, imaging procedures and knowledge of laboratory testing and patient history requirements for imaging procedures. This position is required to obtain physician orders and insurance verification and/or pre-authorization prior to the completion of imaging procedures. They register patients, collect payments, prepare medical records, assist with billing, fulfill medical records request, and print electronic imaging files. Answers multiple phone lines; triages multiple situations with patients and physicians, serves as the liaison for the imaging department. All duties accomplished with excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.

In this position you will:

  • Based on working knowledge of exams and patient preparation for same, schedules appointments for the following departments: CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Radiology.

  • Coordinates Imaging Services exams with other hospital departments, physician offices and prepares daily schedule for distribution.

  • Coordinates interpreters for patients.

  • Follows up on patient orders and referrals to facilitate making the correct appointment.

  • Keeps abreast of changing exam protocols for each department.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Experienced in obtaining insurance verifications, referrals and authorizations.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate's Degree Or equivalent from a two year college or technical school with emphasis in healthcare. Or equivalent educ/experience

  • 1 year Related experience in a healthcare setting (i.e. physician’s office, scheduler, etc.).

  • Medical imaging experience.

  • Medical Terminology Certification or successful completion of a Medical Terminology course within six months from date of hire preferred.

About the Redmond Campus.

The Redmond center encompasses nearly 85,000 square feet of space on three floors. It has 18 emergency exam rooms, open and staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week; an advanced diagnostic imaging center (with X-ray, mammography, ultrasound, CT scan and MRI), staffed by partners from Seattle Radiology; an on-site laboratory; and offices for primary- and specialty-care providers.
