Swedish Medical Center Administrative Nursing Admission Coordinator in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Shared Services is looking for a Administrative Nursing Admission Coordinator (0.9 FTE, Evenings) to work for Command Center at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.
The Administrative Nursing Admission Coordinator has the primary responsibility of assigning bed placement for patients requiring admission to acute care and critical care units at the First Hill campus.
In this position you will:
Be responsible for admissions from emergency departments, direct admits and inter-unit transfers.
Coordinate requests for surgical patients (in the case of add on procedures and/or changes to admission) as well as pediatrics, patients to CDU and admissions from outside facilities, will filter through this process
Review chart s and/or calls to clarify bed criteria will be performed to assure appropriate bed placement
Collaborate with nursing, physicians, EVS, the nursing resource office and other facilities to define, reduce and eliminate barriers within the system which may impede patient flow
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Registered Nursing
Current Washington State Registered Nurse license required
Current BLS certification on hire
Ability to work with people who may be injured, infirmed or confused and their families; understanding their needs and concerns is crucial
Minimum 5 years’ RN experience in either ED, ICU and/or 5 years Acute Care Inpatient Nursing
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Leadership experience preferred
