Swedish Medical Center Assistant Philanthropy Officer - Foundation Major Gifts in Seattle, Washington

Swedish Shared Services is looking for an Assistant Philanthropy Officer (1.0 FTE, Days) to work in the Swedish Medical Center Foundation at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.

The Assistant Philanthropy Officer is responsible for working with the Senior Director and with physician and administrative leaders to share with potential donors the fundraising priorities for the Institute or Enterprise with a goal to increase giving at the $50,000 level. The Assistant Philanthropy Officer will work both independently and, as appropriate, engage physicians and volunteers in the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of current and prospective donors.

In this position you will:

  • Work closely with the Foundation Leadership, Foundation Board, Administrators, and physician groups to develop and implement effective fundraising strategies

  • Manage a portfolio of donors capable of making gifts of $50,000

  • Identify, qualify, cultivate and solicit new prospective donors

  • Represent the Foundation within the community by attending and actively participating in internal and external functions and events

  • Provide leadership, support, and motivation to physicians, staff, and volunteers who participate in fundraising activities

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Minimum three years of major gift or sales experience

  • Proven track record managing a successful development or sales program

  • Experience in a major, decentralized institution, preferably in healthcare or higher education

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

  • Ability to interface with senior level administration, medical staff, and board members
