Swedish Medical Center Business Office Credit Balance Analyst-Billing Office in Seattle, Washington


Where you work matters! Swedish Medical Center is looking for a full time Business Office Credit Balance Analyst in our Corporate Billing Office at Metropolitan Park in Seattle, Washington.

The Business Office Credit Balance Analyst is responsible for conducting thorough reviews of patients’ accounts with credit balances.

In this position you will:

  • Receive, respond to and resolve inquiries concerning credit balances and insurance take backs.

  • Answer and resolve incoming phone calls regarding credit balances in a polite manner.

  • Integrate new and changing legal requirements into current procedures in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Insure refund requests and documentation are accurate and prepared weekly.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining an up-to-date policy and procedure manual to properly guide billing staff; review and improve work procedures and performance so that the most productive and efficient methods are being used.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Accounting training in an accredited school or equivalent on-the-job training in an accounting or cash applications role

  • One year Experience in hospital insurance billing office, accounting, accounts receivable or bookkeeping

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Management or Health Care Administration

  • A strong technical background including experience with automated clinical information systems preferred; proficient in working with Epic.
