Swedish Health Services Cardiac Technician Senior - Heart And Vascular Clinic in Seattle, Washington

Description:

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Cardiac Technician Senior (1.0 FTE, Days) to work in Heart and Vascular Clinic at Swedish Medical Group in Seattle, WA. Swedish Medical Group now offers a one time $2,500 Sign-on bonus and a $2,500 retention bonus for Cardiac Technicians newly joining SMG.*

The Senior Device Tech works with physicians, mid-levels, clinical staff and office staff to effectively, efficiently and accurately fulfill the duties and responsibilities of a busy outpatient device clinic. All procedures and treatments performed must be ordered by the physician, and/or mid-level providers. Duties and responsibilities will include interrogation and assessment of implantable cardiac devices which include pacemakers, defibrillators and implantable loop recorders, as well as management of remote transmissions. The senior device technician will work closely with device clinic RN's and will be under the clinical supervision of the implanting physicians.

In this position you will:

  • Analyze patient rhythm strips, interpret magnet behavior, identify potential emergent problems and referral to MD if needed.

  • Download and interpret remote transmissions from patients for all remote sites and companies.

  • Maintains close communication with physicians and staff in regards to device functionality and appropriately responds to needs of patient with concerns or questions.

  • Provides patient education. Determines level of insight and provides necessary education, to include family support members. Educates patients regarding post implant care, immediate and long term care.

  • Advises patients on after hours care/telephonic care/and remote care.

  • Works independently with physician(s) to maintain timely flow of patients through office.

  • Works very closely with electrophysiologist and EP staff to provide excellent patient care.

  • May assist with the provision of education in the clinic setting.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular technology program or accredited school of registered nursing

  • Completion of specialized training in cardiovascular disease.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN)

  • Three (3) years previous experience as a Cardiovascular Technologist

Preferred qualification for this position include:

  • Completion of ATI training

  • Cardiovascular Technician certification (CVT) or Certified Cardiac Device Specialist certification (CCDS).
