Swedish Health Services Carpenter - Facilities Construction in Seattle, Washington


Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Carpenter (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) in Facilities Construction at Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle, WA.

The Carpenter performs evaluation, demolition, set-up fabrication and installation of commercial interior construction systems, projects and repairs.

In this position you will:

  • Installation of new or repair/replacement of ceiling tiles.

  • Installation of new repair/replacement of walls and rails.

  • Installation of new or reglazing of windows.

  • Installation of new or repair/replacement of drapery rods.

  • Installation of new or repair/replacement of doors, jambs and hardware.

  • Installation of new or repair/replacement of locks of all types.

  • Installation of new or repair/replacement of plastic laminates of all types.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • 4 year experience journey level.

  • All basic carpentry skills, cabinetry skills, office furniture and hardware skills.

  • Proficient in the use of all basic carpentry hand and power tools.

  • Must be in good physical condition to perform many physically demanding tasks including: climbing ladders, working in high places, working in tight/confined spaces, climbing several flights of stairs, reaching overhead to work on ceilings and walls, and reaching low to work on floors, cove base.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED

  • Vocational school
