Swedish Health Services Central Service Technician - Sterile Processing in Seattle, Washington

Description:

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Material Distribution and Receiving Technician (1.0 FTE, Night Shift) to work in the Sterile Processing at First Hill in Seattle, WA.

We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to utilizes a computerized MMIS (Materials Management Information System) and associated hardware / software, to conduct physical inventories, replenishment of supply areas (such as patient care and ancillary areas), receive incoming stock and non-stock freight and parcel shipments, and put away inventory items.

In this position you will:

  • Assists in record keeping and verification of equipment.

  • Performs duties including decontamination and sterilization of instruments and equipment; and inspecting and assembling surgical instruments, equipment, trays, and packs. Fills surgery case carts from predetermined listings. Delivers case carts to surgical/interventional area.

  • Able to relate to and work in all of the Department’s areas on assigned shift.

  • Operates all sterilizers using appropriate sterilization techniques at appropriate campus according to manufacturer instructions.

  • Identifies and reports supply, equipment, and procedure problems.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience

  • Completion of formal Central Services Technician course or successfully challenged Course test.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 1 year Related experience with surgical instrumentation in hospital Sterile Processing/ Central Services environment.

  • Materials management and/or supply chain experience.
