Swedish Medical Center Central Services Technician II - Sterile Processing in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Central Services Technician II (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Sterile Processing Department at Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle, WA
The Central Services Technician is responsible for all task-based Central Services activities. Central Services activities include, but are not limited to: decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instrumentation, assembly and delivery of surgical and interventional procedure case carts, paring and replenishment of materials, and receiving and distribution of Central Services supplies.
In this position you will:
Assists in record keeping and verification of equipment.
Performs duties including decontamination and sterilization of instruments and equipment; and inspecting and assembling surgical instruments, equipment, trays, and packs. Fills surgery case carts from predetermined listings. Delivers case carts to surgical/interventional area.
Able to relate to and work in all of the Department’s areas on assigned shift.
Operates all sterilizers using appropriate sterilization techniques at appropriate campus according to manufacturer instructions.
Identifies and reports supply, equipment, and procedure problems.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Completion of formal Central Services Technician course or successfully challenged Course test.
Three (3) years related experience with surgical instrumentation in hospital Sterile Processing/ Central Services environment.
Current certification through internationally recognized organizations such as IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management) or CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing) is required.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Materials management and/or supply chain experience
