Swedish Health Services Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Inpatient Occupational Therapy in Seattle, Washington

Description:

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (0.9 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Inpatient Occupational Therapy at Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle, WA.

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (C.O.T.A.) delivers services upon referral and under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist to maximize functional outcomes. The COTA actively participates in discharge planning, implements the treatment program and communicates the patient response. Services are delivered within the framework of a team approach, including appropriate disciplines, the patient and their significant others. These services are delivered in compliance with Swedish Medical Center standards, national professional standards, state practice acts, and current accepted state of the art practice.

In this position you will:

  • Demonstrate complex problem solving skills in both patient care and department operations.

  • Documentation meets regulatory requirements, departmental standards, and considers reimbursement needs. Document on day of visit, usually at time of visit.

  • Carry out assigned responsibilities in a timely and complete manner, using appropriate judgment and detail.

  • Supervise students as assigned

  • Respond to requests in a positive and helpful manner.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate's degree Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

  • Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant license in Washington State

  • Current certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN)
