Swedish Medical Center Charge RN - Ambulatory Infusion Center in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Charge Registered Nurse (1.0 FTE, Days) to work Ambulatory Infusion Center at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.
The Charge Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients in an acute care environment. The Charge RN is accountable for the delivery of coordinated, safe, compassionate, therapeutic, evidence-based quality care to patients and families, based on individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and appropriate care strategies throughout the lifespan.
In this position you will:
Coordinate patient care activities on the nursing unit, provide immediate clinical oversight of staff members, and ensure that all daily departmental activities are completed, including on–going monitoring activities
Works closely with patients, families, staff members, and providers to obtain or disseminate information, and provide education
Serves as a role model and clinical resource to staff on the unit to intervene on their behalf when needed, identify immediate resources, and communicate ongoing needs to shift or unit leadership
Actively participates in performance improvement activities within the unit and with other departments
Makes appropriate patient care and unit assignments, and delegates tasks according to staff competencies
Required qualifications for this position include:
All Registered Nurses without a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing must obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or higher within 6 years of hire
A RN with 20 years of RN experience will not be required to obtain a BSN
Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis at each facility by the most senior administrative nursing leader in consultation with the Human Resources leader
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
Current BLS & ACLS Certification
1 year experience with like population of hiring unit and demonstrated leadership accomplishments
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing strongly preferred
Previous charge nurse experience, to include leading teams
