Swedish Medical Center Charge RN - South Tower Surgery OR in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Charge Registered Nurse (1.0 FTE, Day shift, 9am start) to work in the South Tower OR Unit at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.
South Tower is a great blend of inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures. They have 10 operating suites that generally run 0700-1730. Types of cases can include General and colorectal surgery, pain service procedures, GYN, urology, breast, plastics, brachy therapy, ENT, maxilla facial, oral surgery and eyes. We are lucky enough to have specialty charge nurses and lead surgical technologist for each service that provide support.
In this position you will:
Assess, plan, evaluate, and document the nursing process in the assigned unit as needed.
Run the desk
Assist with lunches and breaks
Ensure patient support through infection control processes, sterility assurance, and product and instrument availability.
Actively participate in staff development
Discern departmental needs in managing daily workload and staffing within budget and standard of care
Required qualifications for this position include:
All Registered Nurses without a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing must obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or higher within 6 years of hire
A RN with 20 years of RN experience will not be required to obtain a BSN Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis at each facility by the most senior administrative nursing leader in consultation with the Human Resources leader
Licensed as Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
Minimum of one year of relevant clinical experience working with the patient population similar to department of hire or completion of the specialty residency located at that facility
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Previous charge nurse experience
