Swedish Medical Center Clinic RN - Ventricular Assist Device Coordinator in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Group is looking for a Clinic Registered Nurse- Ventricular Assist Device (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Heart And Vascular Clinic at Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle, WA.
This position will be working with multiple providers on the care team, working across the continuum to provide optimal patient care. The VAD Coordinator (Clinic RN) plays a vital role on the patient care team, demonstrating the Swedish values of patient-centered care and service; respect, caring and compassion; teamwork and partnership; continuous learning and improvement; and leadership
In this position you will:
Triage patients and communicate urgent patient needs to the practitioner
Instruct patients in the collection of samples and other tests
Perform EKG’s, assist with diagnostic test and clinical procedures to appropriate level of training and established procedures
Obtain lab specimens according to clinic procedures and follow up to insure correct processing and handling
Under supervision of practitioner, administer medications. Start intravenous lines and administer intravenous fluids with appropriate certification
Delegate tasks to other caregivers as license permits
Under supervision of the practitioner, inform patients of lab results, call in prescriptions to pharmacies and return practitioners’ phone messages
Document all interactions in patient’s medical record
Will work with patients who are supported with a variety of mechanical circulatory support devices including, but not limited to: Impella, Tandemheart, ECMO, Centrimag and durable LVAD devices
As part of the multidisciplinary team, will coordinate and manage data, training guidelines, plans of care, etc as they relate to this patient population [or something similar that sums up all the other bullets]
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of accredited school of registered nursing
Current Washington State RN license
Current BLS certification required or to be obtained at clinic expense within one month of hire
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- ACLS certification
