Swedish Health Services Clinical Nurse Specialist - Clinical Education in Seattle, Washington


Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Clinical Nurse Specialist (0.9 FTE, Day Shift) to work in the Clinical Education Department at Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle, WA.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist demonstrates an advanced level of professional competence in a specialized field of nursing. The primary roles of the Clinical Nurse Specialist include: practitioner, educator, leader, consultant and researcher. Within each role the Clinical Nurse Specialist uses problem solving strategies and the nursing process to improve outcomes

In this position you will:

  • Demonstrates advanced capabilities and knowledge in assessment, diagnoses, treatment and evaluation of an identified population or high risk group to facilitate optimal outcomes.

  • Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of evidence based practice standards for patient care.

  • Works collaboratively with appropriate resources to manage complex patient care.

  • Serves as a clinical resource for the nursing staff, health care providers and the community.

  • Utilizing research and the quality improvement process to assure quality and value in patient outcomes.

  • Applies educational concepts and skills with patient, family, nursing staff and other health care providers to improve outcomes.

  • Facilitates problem solving and decision making to influence the development, implementation and evaluation of patient, unit, department and organizational goals.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree Nursing with clinical focus from an accredited school of nursing.

  • 3 years current nursing experience in related clinical area.Washington State Registered Nurse or RN Temporary Practice Permit required.

  • Valid driver’s license is required.In the case of a newly-relocated individual, a Washington state license must be acquired under the circumstances and within the required timeframe set by the state of Washington.

  • Possession of the minimum (or greater) insurance coverage as mandated by the state of Washington also required.

  • When a personal vehicle is to be used for business purposes, a valid vehicle registration form is required.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Certification in specialty
