Swedish Medical Center Clinical Nutrition Specialist in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Clinical Nutrition Specialist (0.8 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Clinical Nutrition at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.
The Inpatient Clinical Nutrition Specialist, (Registered Dietitian) is a member of a multidisciplinary team that assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates all aspects of a patient's nutrition care. The Clinical Nutrition Specialist is able to use validated tools to identify patients that require nutrition interventions or that have the potential for developing nutrition related problems.
In this position you will:
Uses the Swedish Medical Center Nutrition Screening and Assessment Policy and Procedure (for Adults or Pediatrics) to identify and provide a nutrition assessment for patients requiring nutrition interventions or with the potential for developing nutrition related problems.
Performs nutrition focused physical exams when appropriate and incorporates the results into the patient nutrition assessment.
Organizes nutrition risk factors, complications and assessment data to identify and label specific nutrition problems that the Clinical Nutrition Specialist will address.
Provides a nutrition diagnosis of malnutrition in hospitalized patients using approved criteria. Communicates the diagnosis to the LIP.
Develops a specific nutrition care plan and plans interventions based on the nutrition assessment and diagnosis.Monitors and evaluates the patient response to their nutrition care plan at regular intervals following department policy. Adjusts the nutrition intervention/plan of care strategies if needed, based on patient/client response to nutrition treatment
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition Services or Dietetics
Completion of an approved Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Internship
Washington State certified Dietitian within 6 months of hire
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience in a hospital setting
